Good for your heart
Scarlet Runners 22"x30 on Arches Last September I harvested my first crop of red runner beans. Red runners aren't something that my family planted. I had seen seed packs, read about them, saw pictures in magazines. But I had never seen them in a garden. I bought seeds. I planted them along a fence. They grew, bloomed in bright scarlet almost orchid-like. I let them be. In the fall I discovered long dried pods with beans in them. I harvested them in a colander. I fell in love with the variety of colours, the shapes, the patterns. I had to paint them.
